He holds a degree in industrial engineering from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. He is the chair of the board of econsense, a forum for the sustainable development of German business.

Patricio was officially named Minister-Secretary of Climate Change in 2020. Under his leadership and within the framework of the U.N. COP 26 in Glasgow, he signed a historic agreement to protect the Argentinean part of the Atlantic Forest.
